Monito Manika is manikamanila's version of Monito-Monita, a Philippine tradition of gift-giving. Monito is Spanish for secret friend, and the idea is to give a gift to someone without revealing who you are - just like how Santa leaves gifts for children in secret. (Yapi promptly spoiled the game by excitedly telling me over YM that Ceras found a gift for Magpie. Boo, Yapi.)


Que horror. Magpie's monito is indeed Ceras, lascivious brother of her archnemesis, Manx Minuet.

The rest of the monitos were revealed in a meet at Serendra in Makati City. Almost all of the ManikaManila members were present, including Eloisa (rosiael), who is visiting from London. Nicky (nikittin) and her gang, who were part of the game, were sorely missed. As promised, I took photos of the monitos for Nicky and all of those who were not able to make it.


Mr. Li didn't seem too happy to find out that his monito is the little Keran.


Keran loved him, anyways.


Luciat's monito is Verchiel, who, as always, kept dozing off during the party.


New kid on the block Ezekiel exchanged gifts with Kim Yushin, who everybody fondly called Lolo Kim.


Ashes surprised Ashe Celestine and well, everybody else by showing her extra features (not shown here).


Shuri looked so cute at the meet, and Dominique was very glad that he's her monito.


If she falls in love with Shuri, she just might stay here for good. Right, Mommy Amy? (^_~)
